This isnt the church of Joseph Smith

Regarding those who are antagonistic towards the church, there is too much focus on Joseph Smith. This church isn't about Joseph. Joseph didn't want you to focus on him. He wanted you to focus on who the church is about-- and that is Jesus Christ. Joseph was only in a leadership position for a short time and then he died. Before his death, the church was Christs and after his death, the church remained to be Christs. Joseph was given a commission by God that is a stewardship and responsibility to seek the will of God and then to do it. Joseph is held accountable for his performance of this commission. He did some good work; he did some bad work. Overall, the church moved forward. Brigham young was also a leader-- much longer than Joseph actually. Then Brigham died. Now the commission of the church of Jesus Christ is in the hands of someone living. It is in your hands and it is in our hands. This church is only the body of Christ in as much as we will act as the body of Christ-- his hands and his mouth as we do and say what God would do and say. We do this by seeking the will of God and doing it. You are not to be the hands of Joseph Smith. Joseph will be accountable for his own stewardship of Christs Commission and you will be held account for your stewardship of Christs Commission. I frankly don't care if Joseph sinned or lied. Regardless of whatever Joseph Smith did that was bad or good, I still have a commission to serve God and to be the hands of Christ. I am called to serve in this church. The calling didn't come from Joseph Smith, it came from God and it came to me. Perhaps it came to you as well. Joseph does not and can not undo that commission.
